Everyone basically plays the same, and the combat's pretty simple, but there's fun secret areas if you break the right bricks!

[Thankfully the first stage is pretty simple, and the first area doesn't even have any enemies so they can get their bearings and try out their short range and long range attacks.]

The story changes depending on what characters you play, too! Your character is a kunoichi who fell in love with her mark, so now she's going back to destroy her clan so they can't kill him!

[Such pathos for a smattering of pixels which may or may not resemble said kunoichi.]

It's okay, my character's backstory is about how he grew up in poverty because the land was taken over by a cruel lord with a bunch of shady ninja at his beck and call, so he trained in the blade so he can fight them off himself!

He's got bones from three ninja who attacked him tied at his waist as lucky charms.

Huh? No. The mark isn't playable. Most of the playable characters' stories don't really intersect until the end. They didn't fix that until the sequel!

Their meeting is so awkward, it's cute! Plus it forces them to get to know each other faster than normal.
