For these two, though... Maybe they realize their love of each other in the last stages, but they agree to take out the big bad anyway so they can get closure before they elope?

If you take out the sex scenes, that definitely bumps it down a bunch! Unless it got really dark?

Uh - it’s definitely more likely for us to have a bunch of sex or go on a kama sutra spree than for things to get dark.
