[ yoshi led them here, so it’s deto’s turn to lead them inside - where, despite the gaudiness, there is a perfectly normal receptionist at the front desk. there’s no change in her expression as she greets them, no difference in her inflection when she confirms their room of choice and gives directions to its location ]

I was almost expecting them to be in costume. Meeting an astronaut would be cool.

[He's only too happy to let Deto take the lead, trying not to look too nervous as the receptionist gets them checked in.]

[ the sound makes something in his stomach jump. not - nerves. not really. excitement? the pre-game buzz of getting to rediscover intimacy together. he thinks if he lets it, the feeling will vibrate out of him eventually. he thinks he could do something cheesy like float

so he tugs yoshi out of the elevator and down the hall before he goes full shoujo because that’s too much, even for him ]
