[It's honestly kind of amazing Yoshi can sleep so soundly these days, and yet, here we are.

The first signs of rousing are when those "bunny ears" softly buzz into place. Luckily, it's not enough to really wake anyone. Luckier still, neither is the quiet mumble of:]

Hm...?

[ He needs to still ask about those sometime, really. But the blond comes closer, footsteps silent, until he stops still a good feet away. ]

Is there anyway we can talk away from the others for a bit?

[ Roxas' words are quiet, but the offer still is there nonetheless. ]

[Yoshi nods rapidly, standing up as quietly as he can and casting a glance at his squad. No one stirring...

He points to the area behind Roxas. If they walk that way, it should be clear.]

[ That sounds good to him!

The blond then moves along, his footsteps silent like he wasn't even ever there. He's gotten real good at being stealthy - being small and lightweighted helps immensely with this, though.

He'll keep himself going until they're much farther from the rest of the squad. ]

...this should be good enough.

[ Then he'll turn to face Yoshi. ]

It's good to see you again. It's much better catching up in person sometimes, isn't it?

[Yoshi is a little less good with the stealth, but he, too, is light. It's some extra effort, but he remains mostly quiet as he follows!]

Yeah!

[There's an exclamation in his tone, even though his overall voice remains hushed. He knows better than to alert the others.]

What have you been up to? Is Vanitas here too?

[ Good, at least Yoshi gets they need to be quiet. ]

I've been up to mostly just taking it easy for a bit. What happened at the Resort took a lot more out of me than I thought it did.

[ Then he'll shake his head. ]

Not this time, but I did tell him I was dropping by so he wouldn't worry. How's things been wirh you?

Back to work... but not as usual. I've been spending time helping analyze Cinque, and I've been turning down some of the missions.

[He's trying!!]

Szayel installed a monitoring program on my BitPhone too, so hopefully he can make a limiter once he's got the data.

A lot of the bad ones?

[ Roxas is glad that Yoshi is actually putting that change into practice. Though at the other thing he can't help but be curious. ]

What would the limiter be for?

Pretty much. There's always SCPs that need tracking down... I'm pretty sure they want me to find Ryoga again.

[Ahaha...]

The limiter's for my power. You know how I can see everything as numbers? Turns out it's actually straining my brain because I'm taking in so much information all the time.

Basically, if I keep processing too much of that information, it'll cause my brain to burn out early. So he's going to make a limiter to stop me from automatically trying to understand the numbers I'm seeing so there's less strain.

Like that would happen.

[ Ryoga being found easily, he means, and there was a bit of a snort because...it's actually kind of an amusing thought, but only if Yoshi didn't get himself hurt in the process. ]

...It's good he's making it for something like that, then. Do you have any idea how long it'll take to get the data?

[ After all, his friends are important to him. He doesn't want any harm coming to them. ]

I'm pretty sure I found him all the other times, too? Buuuut I'm going to leave him alone now.

[Ryoga doesn't deserve this.]

It shouldn't be much longer now! It'll be weird to have my BitPhone stopping my thoughts, but...

I want to live in this world with everyone as long as I can.

[ ... Poor Ryoga.

Though the rest catches his attention moreso than that. ]

...I want you to live as long as you can too. You deserve that much.

[ And he can't stomach the idea of Yoshi dying anytime soon--not again, at any rate. ]

[Yoshi nods, smile still on his face, if calmer.]

It sounds like it's pretty bad if I use it, too. It'll even damage my soul, so... they wouldn't even be able to bring me back.

[There's been all kinds of fun discoveries about his power, really.]

I don't know about deserving it or not, but... Even Szayel assigned me the job of living as long as I can, so that means I really have to try.

I mean, it's Szayel.

[And as much as he does genuinely like the mad scientist of a doctor they've got, that's. That's still a lot, coming from him.]

So, you'd...cease to exist?

[ ... ]

...I think you do, because you're my friend, and I'd never want to hear or see anything about you dying ever again.

I also know a lot of people besides Syazel who would like for you to do well with that job, so it's nice to know you're going to be doing your best.

[ For however creepy Syazel is in general, Roxas supposes he has something he can be thankful about him towards. ]

I guess? I still don't really get how souls here work, to be honest...

[He didn't even know you could double die until he'd been dead for a while. If he had, he miiiiiight've been a bit more careful about antagonizing the barghest from beyond the grave. Maybe.

But there's that second part, and his head dips again, just a little.]

...You know? If I stayed in my world, I might've made a lot of friends and learned to like myself. But it's also possible I wouldn't have made any that would've stayed with me, and I would have died or killed instead.

[It's kind of funny; pretty much the same fate awaited him, if less violently.]

My future self... in both this world and that one, he made a lot of mistakes. I was able to come to like him - to like myself - in one of those endings, but...

It's harder to accept it in this world.

[But then, in this one, his stubborn ignorance had hurt so many more.]

[But, after a beat, he smiles again.]

--Sorry, that's probably weird, huh? I'll work hard so I can feel like I deserve it someday.

[If... if that's possible.]

Even if you can't right now, I'll always will...until the day you can accept that. I know that it's not going to be easy, but you've done your best to turn it all around. And what're friends for, if they can't believe in each other?

[ If he couldn't ever think that Yoshi would reach that point, that is. He's changed so much from what Roxas remembered of him, and those changes are unforgettable, nor are they just cosmetic. So he has a lot of faith in him now, that he can get eventually to thinking he's worthy of something so basic, but undeniably important. ]

I won't pretend to understand why you won't right now [ Even if he can make a few guesses. ], but I also don't think it's really weird for people to be so hard when it comes to themselves.

[ It's only natural, isn't it? ]

Well, from the start, it was easier to think of others as more valuable... No, not just that. More human than me.

Back when you talked about being a Nobody, I still firmly thought of you as more of a person than I was. That's just what made the most sense to me at the time.

Feeling like I "deserve" anything... even if I hadn't done the things I did, it's tough to get used to.

[ I firmly thought of you as more of a person than I was...

Roxas hears the words, and already he's thinking of himself, of how many people who told him he was less than a person, not even a person. Just 'half' of Sora.

Then he thinks of Vanitas, who was so adamant about not even being a person - just half. Predictably, it bothers him that someone he cares about has such little self-worth. ]

It's tough and it probably won't be easy still, but I can promise you that once you get there, it'll be all worth it.

[ He kind of hopes it'll mean Yoshi will verbally DESTROY someone for being Rude to him if it happens, but one step at a time. ]

[He nods quickly at that.]

People keep telling me that. I don't know if I'll ever be able to, but... I want to try. After everything that happened, it would be pretty awful of me to decide not to change at all.

[Because that was his other problem - his refusal to change.]

But... that's pretty much it from my side. What about you and Vanitas? What have you two been up to?

[ Roxas will nod to that - he's sure Yoshi's already changed after everything, but it doesn't mean that there's nothing left to change still.

There's a lot of room for someone to grow - including him, he guesses. ]

We've just finished getting settled in Twilight Town and taking it easy. But soon, I think we're going to be considering what's the best way to tackle the Foundation problem from the outside.

[ Putting it nicely, but basically 'how we're going to annihilate the Foundation'. ]

It's really nice being back in a place I can call home, though. And I think Vani really likes the town a lot too.

Does he keep doing that thing where he says he doesn't like it, but actually he really does?

[Classic tsundere.]

[ Okay... he laughs. ]

I wouldn't exactly say that, though some things don't change with him when it comes to him acting like it sometimes.

[ Vanitas is still a tsun. ]

So he's still totally a tsundere.

[As if that would change.]
