[At some point, Yoshi will go seek Akira out!

Where is he...]

[KITCHEN. MAKING COFFEE. which is like, where he ALWAYS is]

[lifts a hand to wave lazily at Yoshi. sup!]

[justonezero]

[There he is! Yoshi smiles brightly as he approaches.]

Do you have a minute?

[purrtagonist]

Several minutes, if you need them. Coffee?

[already grabbing a second mug, but he actually has no idea if Yoshi is a coffee drinker]

[justonezero]

No thanks! Do you have hot chocolate?

[That's the good stuff.]

[purrtagonist]

[holds up a finger and digs through the cabinets to find the hot chocolate mix. SCORE]

[justonezero]

[HELLA.

So, while he works on that:]

Do you remember much about the dream this week?

[purrtagonist]

[mmmm. and at that, Akira's expression sobers]

I do. It stuck with me, like a memory. Why?

[justonezero]

I guess I wanted to ask what it was about.

[purrtagonist]

[he nods]

There wasn't much to it. Minato and Makoto were in it as well, and we were all seated around a table in a cafeteria eating lunch. We were talking about. . . the Foundation? Or. . . something similar to that.

I don't think we liked it very much, because we didn't have many good things to say about it. And I remember getting very angry about how they treated people.

[justonezero]

Oh.

[That gives him something to mull over, taking a proper seat.]

So they treat people badly?

[purrtagonist]

That was the impression I got. Like. . . there were those of us who were less than human to them.

[he knows the term used in his memory-- fictional-- and he is steadfastly not using that word because FUCK THAT]

Huh? Why would you be less than human?

[That part's new.]

[purrtagonist]

They wouldn't be. It's something the people who worked for this Foundation told themselves to justify how they were acting.

[nnnnope not saying it. not acknowledging it. they aren't fictional. they aren't]

[Yoshi hums thoughtfully.]

I don't remember anything like that at all from mine. They were pretty nice to me!

[purrtagonist]

Yeah! Archer was kind of tough, but I think he just wanted to make sure I was ready for whatever I needed to do? And Red was really nice!

She even understood what I meant when I told her about the numbers. Never met someone else like that before!

[purrtagonist]

Hm? Someone else who can see numbers like you?

[justonezero]

Yeah. I don't know if it was exactly the same, but she kind of knew what I was talking about!

She was helping me train at it, too.

[purrtagonist]

[huh. . .]

What do you think these dreams-- these memories-- mean, Yoshi-kun?

[justonezero]

I think it means we're supposed to help protect people.

[And there's an incredible sense of peace that accompanies his words. Because if something so important were up to him... if something that could help so many people was assigned to him...

Isn't that truly the best possible use for his life?]
